By

A Microsoft spokesman confirmed today that the upcoming SP2 for Windows XP has been delayed at least a month and won't be shipping earlier than July. As you probably know by now, the software giant is focused on improving security with the new Service Pack.

Microsoft released a beta of SP2 for Windows XP service pack in December, followed by Release Candidate 1 in March. A Release Candidate 2 is still scheduled to be released in May.

  1. I downloaded and put the Beta version on my system and seems work pretty well...there are some really cool features, especialy the new firewall:), still not as good as a hardware firewall but a great improvement from SP1.I can't wait for Microsoft to release the full version!
  2. Ya I think the firewall is the best improvment - Im running the Beta too.
