AMD confirm plans for dual-core Opterons

At the annual stockholder meeting for Advanced Micro Devices, CEO Hector Ruiz said the company plans to come out in the second half of 2005 with a version of the Opteron chip for servers that has two processing cores for greater performance. The company could also bring such a chip to the desktop but said it may not because of a lack of demand.
