I recently spotted this article from ABCNews that discusses the present and future of Sun Microsystems, the writer compares the company's fate with that of Digital (DEC), once the 2nd largest computer company in the world.

Despite of past success, present revenues (which are on a declining trend though) and an on-going campaign to boost the company presence and its products, it's truth that the future of the company depends completely on how well they can keep up with technological changes.

Although a bit exagerated for my taste, the writer mentions important facts such as the number of Sun executives who have left the company in the recent years and the decadence of million-dollar servers.
