Yahoo! strikes back at Google

Yahoo! used its annual financial analyst day to announce an expanded email service. With Google's beta GMail service grabbing so much attention, Yahoo! will expand the amount of free storage to 100 MB per user over the summer, and a rather vague promise of "unlimited" storage for paid users. GMail will offer 1 GB of storage and a vastly superior search capability. 100 MB of storage in Yahoo! Mail currently costs $49 a year.

  1. Yahoo! this means I will not need to swap to google mail from my old trusty Yahoo mail that I have used for more than 7 years now! Great news!!!
  2. $10 a month can get you a cheap server and yer own domain and 500 email adress's, so not sure why anyone would ever pay $49 for a mail acct, but thier Free email rox, i think Yahoo! has best free email going, and with this news it just got better.Hope they get user rooms back up soon tho.
