Already A Crack for Windows XP SP2?

By Derek Sooman

On July 6, 2004, 8:39 AM

Microsoft has not yet released service pack 2 for Windows XP, but its anti-piracy features have already been cracked open.

"Microsoft has claimed that it's introduced features in SP2 which mean that illegal users of stolen or cracked activation codes won't be able to upgrade the OS, which is due for release in August of this year.

However, sources in the community are claiming that there's already a keygen for service pack 2 out in the wild that will bypass the security arrangements."

I've certainly just come across something called a "Windows XP SP2 Professional Edition Corporate Reg Code" on one of the serialz sites out there. Please remember that piracy is illegal. Please also remember that downloading anything from a serialz or warez site could land you with a nasty virus.

  1. Did you guys know that the only way of getting XP in my country is either buying it through the internet, or buying an illegal copy?In my years of PC fixing and building, i've never even come relatively close to a true original copy of Windows XP.Sad, but true

  3. Haha Phant.. Federelli, that is kinda sad :(There will always be a crack, a way around, a hack.
  4. To quote someone on the board..."Don't be too proud of this technological terror you've constructed...Microsoft" ;)I think there are probably more people who take pleasure out of the fact they cracked a Microsoft product than anything else. Keep in mind most 'hackers' prefer a linux based system with less clutter and a more linear system.
  5. Please also remember that downloading anything from a serialz or warez site could land you with a nasty virus.I'll take my chances :]
