Western Digital designs dedicated RAID drives

I believe that once you introduce RAID to your home machine, you will never turn back again. Whether its to provide a large, unbroken partition for multimedia spanning multiple disks, for enhanced performance for video capture, or for the peace of mind that comes from mirroring your data, RAID is a pretty wicked technology thats not difficult to appreciate.

That's why its interesting to note WD's new WD Caviar RAID Edition (RE) drives. As the name suggests, these drives are specifically targetted at RAID setups. Specifically designed to challenge competitors like the Maxtor Corp. MaxLine drives, these 7,200-RPM drives range in capacity from 120GB to 260GB.
