New MyDoom Variant

By Derek Sooman

On August 4, 2004, 1:43 PM

Another version of the nasty MyDoom virus is infesting machine after machine in its dark path of destruction, bringing misery and mayhem to computer users all over the globe. And this one, like the last one, uses Yahoo people search to move around.

You will know an infected e-mail by the following subject lines:

"SN: New secure mail"
"Secure delivery"
"Re: Extended mail"
"Delivery Status (Secure)"
"Re: Server Reply"
"SN: Server Status"

Please use a good anti-virus software, and regularly keep it up to date - otherwise its useless. In fact, its worse than useless because it will make you think you are safe when in fact you are not.
