Continuing the healthy spread of broadband we see (in countries that already widely have it) BT in the UK has managed to extend the range of its ADSL services, increasing availability across the UK.

Previously, problems with cable lengths over 6km had prevented some 4 percent of homes and businesses who lived in a BT broadband enabled area from getting the service. This amounted to some 1,000,000 potential customers.

With broadband internet access very likely to be a strong component of future home multimedia in the future, this is definately good news.
