SETI finally finds aliens?

By

OK, don't start making that tin foil hat just yet, but it looks like SETI have finally identified a radio signal that appears to be of extra-terrestrial origin and seems unlikely to be just random interference.

Of course, even director of SETI@home David Anderson remains skeptical about the finding. ”It’s unlikely to be real but we will definitely be re-observing it.” Its nice to see SETI turning up something other than static.

Cool, then maybe the crunching hasn't been in vain ;)And since they've only found as little as they have, I'm sure we'll have plenty to WU's to crunch :D[EDIT]Oh, well, so it most likely wasn't true... [/EDIT]

Perhaps they'd get this kind of thing more often if their Boinc client was worth a crap. I removed it from all the computers at my house because its incredibly unreliable on getting and submitting units.
