The IDF continues to provide much interesting insight into the future of Intel processors. Many fascinating bits and bobs of information are flying around, some of which include details on the Sonoma platform, designed around the concept of a mobile entertainment system with TV tuner and remote control. "As well as incorporating the Intel PRO/Wireless 2915ABG network connection Sonoma includes a new Intel Pentium M processor sporting a 533MHz front-side bus and a chipset code-named Alviso."

Details have also emerged on a dual core processor dubbed "Yonah", which will be the first mobile-optimised dual core CPU. This will be based on Intel's new 65nm process. This chip is designed to work with a chipset dubbed "Napa", which will the Calistoga graphics chipset and will utilise Intel's next-gen wireless technology, called "Golan".
