Sony home server with 1 TB HDD space!

Now here is something I think that every modern home should have... a home server! One big repository for all of your movies and TV captures, mp3s and so forth. Other machines throughout the home can connect via wireless to play the movies and music. Sounds great! And Sony have a vision to bring it to us.

The Vaio Type X is a home server that contains four 250GB hard drives: two for PC files and two others for audiovisual materials such as stored TV programs and music. It also comes with seven TV tuners. Oh, and it costs $5,000 and is only available in Japan, with no plans on Sony's part to bring the server to the US. Still, its an indication of the shape of things to come.
