"We've designed and manufactured the Xbox with the highest quality standards and our customer satisfaction is very high." - Microsoft.

A Los Angeles gamer, Sean Burke, has filed a class-action suit against Microsoft, claiming that the Xbox console's manufacturing is defective. His lawsuit alleges that the Xbox DVD drive has a propensity to fail, after what is described as "unreasonably, unconscionably, unusually and unexpectedly short amounts of time." There have, of course, been many stories on the internet of Xbox DVD drives giving up the ghost before too long, and there are even companies who specialise in replacing the drives when they fail. It will be interesting to see which way this one goes.
