Mozilla Firefox 1.0 Final released

By on November 9, 2004, 3:39 AM
Eight million downloads later, Mozilla's Firefox is a fine piece of software that needs no introduction. So, if you were skeptic about dealing with beta software, fear no more because this is the day of the final release.

You can grab Firefox 1.0 final release already. And while Mozilla servers seem to be handling the load quite well for now, don't hold your breath and try to get your copy as soon as possible. In case of a server crash because of the heavy traffic, we will update you with torrent links if necessary.

Noticed it this morning & already have it installed. The tabbed browser extensions still work too. The theme I installed needs to be updated though, I'm too lazy to modify the theme file myself. :-PAnyways, kudos to Mozilla.

Didou pointed out to me in IRC that it was out and within 15 minutes of my DL the servers got /.ed. At the moment Mozilla is totally bogged down. Good luck finding a mirror, and I don't think you'll be able to get any themes or extensions for several days.
