Don't forget you can buy Half Life 2 from Steampowered, where you can choose from three different Half Life 2 packages.

BRONZE, at $49.95, includes the Half-Life® 2 game, plus Counter-Strike™ source.

SILVER, at $59.95, includes Half-Life 2 game, Counter-Strike source, Half-Life 1 and Day of Defeat™.

GOLD, at $89.95, includes Half-Life 2 game, Counter-Strike source, Half-Life 1 and Day of Defeat™, and and assortment of other goodies including HL2 posters, strategy guides, soundtrack, a hat, picture postcards and more.

I dare say if you are patent and lucky you might get a game of HL2 right now, so off you go.

  1. And if only the steam system could work so I could create an account and download it I'd be much happier...
  2. The Counter-Strike source code is available with the Gold version ? Wouldn't that make it easier to create hacks & such ?
  3. be prepared for a 5-8 hour download if buying from steampowered...
  4. I got it through steam (I had to because of the ATi coupon). It freezes at the Loading screen. After 5 minutes of waiting for the next screen to come up, I just quit and gave up. They released a buggy game; at least I didn't pay any extra for it.
  5. He means it includes CS:Source, HL1:Source and DOD:Source, not the source code.
  6. After getting allot of freezes etc on the steam client and it also giving me allot of server busy and winsock errors I was finally able yo buy and start download half-life yesterday...I'm downloading it at a friends place because I am on dialup at home... Going there now to see if it has been completed and if it has you might not see me online much during the coming weeks ;-)
  7. Meh, downloading @ 50kilobytes/sec on a 8megabit internet line

I feel kind of embarrassed now... I just remembered 10 minutes ago that its CS:Source, etc and came back here to my horror...
  9. Hi thereI'm having the same probs.... pissing me off man. Have you been able to sort it outCheers
