Opera Browser Will Resize on the Fly

By Derek Sooman on November 24, 2004, 6:02 PM
Announcing new designs for its new browser, Opera plans to make horizontal scrolling a thing of the past. The company will release a new version of its browser which will include a feature for rendering a Web page to fit a screen regardless of the screen size. The new feature is called Extensible Rendering Architecture (ERA) and is available in the latest test version of Opera.

"Opera's vision is to enable people to access their favourite Web sites on any device, and ERA means that users can have a great Internet experience on any screen regardless of a Web page's width, tables or frame." - Opera CEO Jon von Tetzchner.
