Napster to offer mobile ringtones

Next year, Napster will enter the mobile phone ringtone market. Pitched at North American consumers initially, Napster Mobile will operate a system whereby the more ringtones customers buy, the more points they earn which can be used to offset the cost of PC or music player based track downloads. It is still not clear as to what the real intention is - to earn Napster revenue directly or to get mobile phone owners to buy song downloads or subscriptions from the company, but the idea is certainly not a bad one.
