Nintendo adapter brings music and movies to DS and Game Boy Advance SP

Nintendo DS and Game Boy Advance will soon be able to play music and video, thanks to an adaptor Nintendo will provide. The DS will be able to play video in the MPEG-4 format and songs in the MP3 format by inserting a memory card into the adaptor. The adaptor will also work with the Game Boy Advance SP.

"Someone could record a TV program on a memory card and then watch it the next day on their way to work on the train." - Nintendo spokesman Yasuhiro Minagawa.

Looks like there is one catch... you have to live in Japan to buy one. The adaptor will go on sale in February in Japan for about 5,000 yen ($47.47), but the company has no immediate plans to sell the adaptor overseas.
