Debuting today, Yahoo Desktop Search is the latest in what has now become a crowded market - that of the desktop search tool. Joining the ranks of such software, alongside titles like Blinkx, MSN Toolbar Suite and Google Desktop Search, the Yahoo Desktop Search software can be downloaded from here.

Generally speaking, one will find that most if not all desktop search tools offer pretty much the same features - if all you want is basic functionality. However, some of the different offerings do vary in some interesting ways; Blinkx integrates with your common applications in a most intelligent way, and the MSN software integrates with Outlook.
