Google just keeps coming out with more and more stuff! But is it to start offering an internet telephone service? The Times of London has run a story suggesting that Google plans to start offering such a service, based on Skype.
From a telecoms perspective there is a big appeal in the fact that Google is a search operation – and of course the Google brand is a huge draw, said Julian Hewitt, senior partner at London-based telecommunications consultant firm Ovum.
Hewitt said a Google telephone service could be made to link with the Google search engine. A surfer could simply click a link within the search engine to dial a desired number.
However the reports have been, for the moment at least, denied by Google, who have dismissed these reports as rumour and speculation, according to IT and computer magazine PC Pro.
