Macromedia releases ColdFusion MX 7
Macromedia has released ColdFusion MX 7, the latest incarnation of a server that can build and deploy Internet applications and solve development challenges. The new version of the software brings many enhancements, including the ability to interact with mobile phones using short message service text messaging.
In addition to web-based applications, MX 7 allows developers to create a new class of Internet applications for the mobile world. These new capabilities provide an easy way to securely extend applications to mobile phone users through SMS text messaging. Applications can also be created for access through instant messaging clients. The latest deployment options enable companies to address a broad range of business needs for a mobile work force.
The ColdFusion MX 7 software is available immediately, in not one but two editions. The Standard Edition includes two CPUs for $1,299 (U.S.). The Enterprise Edition includes two CPUs for $5,999.
