Some bad news for all the folks out in Europe waiting patiently for their PSP to appear: you might have to wait longer. Reports have reached Gameshout that the Sony PlayStation Portable launch for Europe could be delayed. This may well mean that the PSP will miss its end-March target for European launch. A spokesman for Sony PlayStation Portable said that Sony continues to expect to roll the machine out "in the spring."

This would effectively be the second time it has delayed the European launch since it originally planned to release the machine in time for Christmas last year.

A spokesman for Sony spoke with GameSHOUT this morning did not confirm whether or not the launch would be delayed, saying only that it continues to expect to roll the machine out "in the spring."

The company source said Sony still planned to ship 3 million PSPs by March 31, but it was not sure how the distribution of those units would change if the launch in Europe was delayed.
