Intel licenses next-gen PowerVR graphics core

Intel, an existing Imagination licensee, has licensed the next-generation PowerVR chip codenamed 'Eurasia' from that company, along with a new multi-format video codec core. Eurasia has been designed to enable a range of chips, each targeting a different segment of the mobile graphics market, for a number of uses including handhelds, mobiles and set-top boxes. Details on the technology are still a little scarce, but it seems likely that Eurasia chips will work alongside PowerVR MBX products, rather than replacing them.
