Apple stonewalled by angry taxpayers in Georgia

By Justin Mann

Apple was very smug a few months ago when they were striking a deal with a Georgia school. The deal involved providing laptops for all the school faculty as well as the attending students. The plan was set to roll out this year, but now has been stopped dead in its tracks, when certain people against the idea brought it to a Judge's attention that the funding for these laptops was coming from a tax increase. They claim taxpayers were not informed well enough of this increase and the judge agreed.

The tax increase happened over two years ago, however. What happens to the money now? Maybe all the mice will become Mighty Mice. The article does not mention whether the school already has existing computer labs, but I certainly hope the kids don't miss out.
