A small number of P4 Extreme Edition cpus in the 3.73Ghz range are being recalled by Intel. This is due to a problem with the heatsink, apparently, and not the actual processor that came with the retail cpu. Intel is offering a full refund on this particular product and has made public the SKU number for people to investigate. The P4 has always been a hottie since day one, and after building several hundred P4 systems myself I can testify to the obscenely large size of the newer heatsinks on BTX form factor heatsinks. They are huge! It would be nice if we had more details as to what, exactly, the problem with the heatsinks is.
