Norwegian-based Falanx Microsystems has been a developer of GPU technology for many years, mostly in the portable sector for displays found in cell phones and mini devices. Recently, however, they have designed their GPU technology for use in the mainstream. It was launched today, and offers a lot of promises, one of them being able to have a motherboard in a year that has onboard video "on-par" with the external adapters of today. We've heard this before, though, and so far I've yet to be impressed. However, there is one thing that makes this technology, dubbed "Mali200", stand out: It is modular. Meaning, you can continue adding unit upon unit until you reach the performance you desire. It will be interesting to see how this pans out.
