Sun establishes open-source office

As part of a continuing drive to become a major player in the open-source community, Sun has established a corporate office dedicated to open-source matters. The new Open Source Office will be headed up by Simon Phipps, who is already Sun's open-source officer. Sun is dedicated to moving towards the goal of making all its products open source, and made its Solaris operating system open-source earlier this year.
