Hitachi Releases World's First Terabyte DVD Recorder

Although not yet available in the U.S. or European nations yet, the new high-tech toy from Hitachi is still impressive, and will probably hit U.S./Eu shores within a year. Hitachi is not well known in the DVR market because of how small their market share is, and they are hoping that their new lineup, including storage capacities of 160GB, 250GB, 500GB and the 1TB, will bump them from 3% to 35%. Don't go reaching for your pocketbook yet, as they won't be available for a month yet, and then only in Japan. It makes sense, being that Japan has the largest DVDR market in the world. As time has told before though, neat things in Japan make their way towards us eventually.
