Google Katrina

By Derek Sooman

On September 13, 2005, 7:06 PM

Google has launched Google Katrina in the aftermath of the disastrous hurricane. The service consolidates information from several publicly available databases, and provides a comprehensive list of people affected by Hurricane Katrina. Katrina Search searches only across web content related to Hurricane Katrina rather than Google's full web index. This is intended to help evacuees, families and friends to find people they might not yet have heard from. Users can register with katrinasafe.com to have their details available on Google Katrina.
