Quake 4 gone gold

For all those Quake fans out there, Shacknews is reporting that Quake 4 has reached gold status. Quake 4 follows the plot left right where Quake II ended (single-player is back to the series), you will be back to play as a Matthew Kane, a marine in an elite military unit called Rhino Squad.

Not too long ago we posted a hands-on Quake 4 preview based on what I saw during E3 2005. Hopefully there will be an opportunity to review the full game later on.
