Since I've got my eye on becoming a computer security professional one day (when I grow up!) I was pleased to hear about the announcement by Red Hat that they are to provide the Red Hat Certified Security Specialist (RHCSS), the first security certification from a major Linux certification program. The new Cert will test advanced security skills within Red Hat Linux, and you need to become a Red Hat Certified Engineer first before beginning.

Then, candidates must pass three other hands-on "endorsement" exams:

* Security: Network Services (#EX333)
* Directory Services and Authentication (#EX423)
* SELinux Policy Administration (#EX429)

Each of these exams costs $749 (U.S). The optional training courses are highly recommended.
