Canon release Digital IXUS WIRELESS

Canon have released the Digital IXUS WIRELESS, which supports many features including automatic wireless image transfer and wireless control of camera shooting functions from a PC. It comes supplied with the Wireless Printer Adapter (WA-1E) for out-of-the-box wireless direct printing to any Canon PictBridge compatible printer.

It will be available in Japan from December and will cost about $433. Canon plans to put it on sale in Europe, the U.S., and Asia, although launch dates have not yet been decided.

Wireless printing will also be possible via a printer adapter that will ship bundled with the camera. The camera and adapter will come preprogrammed to work together so users will be spared the tedious task of setting up the Wi-Fi link between the two devices. A printer with USB port and PictBridge is required for the wireless printing function to work. PictBridge is a standard that allows devices like cameras to control printers.

  1. I just got my Ixus 40 yesterday & I don't regret it. Who needs WiFi ? It'll prolly lead to people leaving it open & noticing their pictures on pRon websites the next day. I can't count the amount of wireless hubs that have no security whatsoever around here.
