Reprieve from forcible disconnection for Internet phone customers

Internet phone customers without 911 services are set to get a reprieve from forcible disconnection. A bill approved Wednesday by a Senate committee will make this possible. Prior to this, recent regulations in the US stated that such services without a 911 service must disconnect customers. Some VoIP companies have argued that they would have to disconnect a huge number of customers if this went ahead.
