Microsoft has launched three new products in India. These are SQL server 2005, Visual Studio 2005 and BizTalk Server 2006. The company claims that these will enable businesses to better connect their people, processes and information and give customers an ability to make better decisions faster.

The launch in India, coming a few hours ahead of the launch in the United States was seen as a significant milestone by India as India had captured worldwide attention as a software hub.
As far as SQL server 2005 goes, the company claims that it has only been possible thanks to the foundation put in place over the last several years with significant investments in Windows Server 2003 and .NET. It should also be noted that today saw the launch of Express editions of SQL Server 2005 and Visual Studio 2005 aimed at the student and hobbyist developer community.

Commenting on the announcement Microsoft India Business and Marketing Officer Doug Hauger said SQL Server 2005 was the biggest release of SQL server --not just in terms of functionality but also performance, scalability and availability.
