SanDisk to launch biometric equipped USB flash drive

SanDisk is to launch a biometric equipped USB flash drive. Dubbed "Cruzer Profile", the drive should be released in the first quarter of 2006. It seems that no supporting software needs to be installed in order to make this work, which is nice.

Security on the USB drive is based on fingerprint recognition, with different levels of security available for protecting personal data. A 512MB and 1GB version of the device will be available with a suggested retail price of US$80 and US$140, respectively, according to the company.
