Verizon Wireless has introduced the BlackBerry 7130e. Verizon Wireless’ BroadbandAccess service on the company’s CDMA EV-DO is available to a BlackBerry for the first time. The device delivers all the e-mail and other functionality available with the BlackBerry wireless platform, and can also serve as a modem. The company claims that when used as a modem, the device can download large documents to a laptop at speeds averaging 400kbps to 700kbps. The device also includes support for "push-based" wireless e-mail, Web browsing, text messaging, personal organizer and other corporate applications. It also features a SureType keyboard technology from RIM, and can integrate with Microsoft Exchange, IBM Lotus Domino and Novell GroupWise.
