ATI is soon ready to treat the market to the next gen of Radeon, with the new RV580 GPU. As soon as the first quarter of 2006, RV580 will be released, along with updates to entry-level GPUs, adding the RV560, RV535 and RV505 to their line using an 80nm process. ATI has been losing heat lately with the raves being all about SLI and the GeForce. Perhaps with a next release coming so soon, ATI can turn some of that around. The 80nm process will bring lower cost for production, better efficiency GPUs and lower power consumption, allowing for higher clock rates.
