There are fears that Microsoft may not be able to meet initial demand for the Xbox 360 in the aftermath of its UK launch. Around 300,000 units are available for the European launch - but will this be enough?
'Microsoft does not have an official Xbox 360 presale programme and we are unable to verify the status of these retailer programmes,' said Microsoft's UK Xbox Director, Neil Thompson. 'Xbox 360 is the hottest gift this Christmas and will be hard to find - but we're working hard to ensure there's a regular replenishment of stock to retail'.
