Sony releases patch for second DRM flaw

Sony has made a patch available for a second flaw discovered in the controversial DRM system that it has utilised in its music CDs. It was discovered that SunComm's MediaMax Version 5 installs a file folder on users' systems that can be used by attackers to gain control over an infected PC. The patch for the latest security flaw is available from SunnComm and the Sony Web site. Seemingly, some 80 or so titles from Sony contain the MediaMax Version 5 copy protection software. A recall is also underway, which is perhaps not great given that we are in the Xmas shopping season.
