-The official release date from Sony is "Spring 2006", but this is looking unlikely. Some time later this year is a much safe bet.

-Expect the PlayStation 3 to retail for at least $400, or perhaps even $500.
-Some titles that should be out within the launch window include Genji 2, Angel Rings (a new RPG), Monster Carnival (an Action RPG), Everybody's Golf 2 and The Eye of Judgment.
-Should have a controller that looks very similar to the standard PlayStation controller, with a remote control sold separately at launch.
-Specs are as follows:

Cell Specs:
PowerPC-based Core running at 3.2 GHz
7 Synergistic Processing Elements (SPEs) running at 3.2 GHz

Lets just hope it won't have a overheating problem, like its bit older rivial the XBOX 360.

I agree about the overheating. I'd also hope they put a GOOD laser/drive into this box or at least make it easy to get a replacement drive.

Sweet God in heaven.Yes, heat (especially in the first generation) will be an issue. However, that being said, it looks as if they really do want to treat the PS3 as a game and multimedia centre and not just a gaming rig.The battle for the hearts and minds of the digital media centre for the home is just heating up. Microsoft has Win XP Media Centre....Intel now has the Viiv platform...and now the PS3 falls in line right behind preparring to blast a path right through the crowd. The hardware specs are simply amazing and frankly...if I wasn't such a devout heterosexual I would say that this thing is damn sexy (rubs an erect nip).:PNow THAT'S a visual you all can take to your graves.:D

no thanks, buttus. My mind is corrupt enough. I will admit that these are some great specs but it doesn't have very many great launch titles; if any. Just like the 360.

The launch titles I agree will be an issue mentajedi...however..this IS PS3 and without a doubt the titles and third party support will be there. The lack of a "killer" launch title will be an issue. I am sure Sony wants the PS3 to blast out of the gate but I fear it will stumble and slowly gain speed.Personally I think the only way around this will be to include some special hardware deal tied into launch quantites only. Hopefully they will avoid that whole "bundled Half Life 2" fiasco that ATI experienced with their Tier One cards (I am sure some people out there still get a migrane on that 10 month delay).
