Anyone who has swung by Microsoft's update site in the last day or so would have noticed that the company has introduced changes to its update pages.

New features of the Update software include "smarter" and "smaller" downloads, the ability to hide updates you don't want to see, an "update news" section and better file selection features.
Microsoft also introduced tweaks to Internet Explorer to comply with a patent claim, in which it was involved in a dispute with the University of California and Eolas.
