Google's reach continues to lengthen, as they find themselves in more and more markets. From a market standpoint, this means that more and more people's toes are getting stepped on. If you're interested in Google's affect on the market, Forbes has an interesting piece on their new foray into financing. “Google Finance” as the site is called, will provide stock data in various sorts along with news, charts, et cetera. This puts Google into further competetion with Microsoft and Yahoo, along with many others. Google will be remaining “impartial” in that unlike other sites they will not generate any of their own data, but will use their existing web crawlers to incorporate news into the information. What else is Google up to?
