Nintendo to up production of the DS Lite

More portable news, Nintendo is looking to appease DS Lite customers in Japan due to the unexpected popularity of the device by ramping up production. March alone will see an increase of over 100,000 units to 550,000, and even more than that in April.

The market definitely responded to the redesign, and Nintendo is very happy with the results. Of course, this market excludes the U.S., Europe and Canada, with Japan still being the only source for the DS Lite. Nintendo has still not announced when the DS Lite will be made available in other countries.

The only thing with the DS Lite is that it looks like a shiny version of my 1993 Toshiba laptop...
