Dell is promising to embrace Intel's Core Duo processor, and will be offering the processor in six additional business and multimedia notebooks this month. Currently offered for the notebooks in its Inspiron and Latitude series, Dell has now expanded the use of the processor to several extra models.

Dell is now offering the dual-core processor in its business-customer focused Latitude D620 and D820, which are priced from $850 and $1050, respectively. If ordered today, the models will be shipping by the end of this month, according to Dell's website. Consumer focused dual-core models include the Inspiron E1505, E1705, 6400 as well as the desktop replacement notebook 9400. Base prices range from $800 to $1050; the estimated shipping dates are 12 and 13 April.

  1. The Core Duo processor only flaw is that it doesn't have 64-bit support.
