The next update to Maxtor's OneTouch line will be in the form of the “OneTouch III”, a 1 Terabyte personal backup device designed for home use. Maxtor talked about the 1TB beast a few months back, and has released 500GB models before that have proven to be very useful in a media center environment. While not exactly cheap at around $800, it's not all that much more expensive than striping two standalone 500GB disks, and it includes software and functionality on top of that such as integrated RAID to improve performance and the ability to be plugged in anywhere, with all your home machines accessing it. NAS for the home is essentially the idea here, and it is becoming more and more popular as people begin amassing media.
