Although we all knew it was coming, Apple has finally unleashed the new MacBooks, off schedule but not by much. If you recall, they suddenly delayed the release a while back. These 13.3" devices are all being powered by Core processors as Apple continues to transition to using only Intel chips, and they vary from $1099 to $1299, fairly midrange pricing that is easy to swallow, and come with decent specs for that money. The higher end model sports a minimum of 512MB DDR2-667, 80GB HDD and a DVD burner, but that is pretty run of the mill at this stage of the game. For those wanting to stick with Apple or try them out, often a $2200+ Macbook Pro just isn't the right fit, so now we have the next gen of lower-priced MacBooks for a wider audience.
