Nintendo have announced today that the DS Lite will be released in Europe on June 23. The portable gaming device will cost about £99.99 or 149.99 euros, and will be available in either black or white. Essentially a smaller, thinner version of the original DS, the DS Lite features improved screens, a longer and thicker stylus and a repositioned microphone. The DS Lite retains all of the cool features of the DS, including the advanced touch screen technology, voice recognition and Wi-Fi capabilities. DS Lite also features adjustable screen brightness with four settings. Several new games are also coming to the DS Lite, including New Super Mario Bros, Brain Training and Nintendogs Dalmatian & Friends Edition, and these will be released around the time that DS Lite gets its European launch.
