LG Electronics releases 4x BluRay Burner

By Justin Mann

On May 30, 2006, 8:49 PM

Not long after we saw the introduction of the first high-capacity optical burner LG Electronics has followed up with a launch coming soon of a 4X Blu-Ray Burner, twice as fast as other drives currently on the market. At nearly $1000 though, don't expect these things to be going like hotcakes, especially since it lacks dual layer support, and other manufacturers are planning such devices for release in the near future. Otherwise, the drive has a host of features, including support for just about ever CD/DVD format along with BluRay support. Very spendy stuff, but very cool.

  1. Ohhh, I cant wait for the price to drop. Alot.
  2. $1,000 is rediculous considering the alternatives. Saw similar with DVD burners when they were first released though.
  3. Actual first gen DVD burners were $5000 ... but yeah .... they will drop in price ... these are there for the people who are on the bleeding edge .... they bleed money ...
  4. it should drop! it will definitely drop
