Game sales drop 10% in May

By Justin Mann

With the continued delays in the release of Sony's PlayStation 3 and the Nintendo Wii, it seems that many current-gen console gamers aren't seeing anything worth buying. Game sales in the U.S. have taken a fairly large dip, falling by 10% over the last month. That number applies only to console games, and likely the bigger focus on school years ending and college students taking finals has had an impact on this. Sales tend to rely on things people see as new and worth trying, and nothing particularly interesting, sans the DS Lite, has been released lately. The DS Lite has been faring well, on track with the sales of the original DS, and may help pick those sales numbers up as Summer arrives.

 1.
it seems that many current-gen console gamers aren't seeing anything worth buying.
Yup! The older consoles are getting quite old and a lot of people would prefer to wait for PS3 exclusive games or Wii.
 2. I cant wait for the Wii, anyway, I have a 360, but I would still rather buy a PC game over a console game anyday. I think, the current console, and upcoming consols (Not the Wii) are just, to simple. You cant do enough on them, watch a DVD, and play a game that will exclusivly work on the brand of console.
 3. Time for bigger and better. If anyone grew up with the NES and SNES like I did, you're ready for the nextgen systems to rekindle those warm and fuzzies you got when you first popped in your first game. Funny thing is I'm acutally excited about the emulator that the Wii is going to have built-in. Ready for old skool Mario brothers or Rygar, But mainly for the eye candy from the release titles.
