Rambus settlement with Hynix gets cut in half

Rambus isn't getting their way in court, with a U.S. Judge telling them that they can either accept a lesser settlement or go back to trial. Originally getting a settlement of $307 Million from Hynix over copyright infringement, the Judge decided to make them go back to the drawing board after seeing figures from a deal between Rambus and Hitachi which was less costly.

Rambus continues to decline, with their lawsuits being a huge source of income from them. Thus, seeing that $307 Million become $133.6 Million probably hurts them quite a bit. Then again, from a consumer standpoint we'd rather see Rambus innovating than litigating. Maybe they'll put some of that money to better use than suing more companies.
