AMD and ATI are given the green light in Canada, Germany
Though marked with potholes of smaller sorts when it comes to sales, AMD and ATI are going through the merger process relatively smoothly. Most recently, Canada and Germany have approved AMD's acquisition, and so long as the U.S. Department of Justice doesn't have any complaints, only time remains to finish the deal. After a few more details are ironed out to those who have an interest in ATI, things will be concluded:
A special meeting of ATI shareholders to approve the transaction is scheduled to be held on October 13, 2006 in . A court hearing to confirm, among other things, the mechanics of the mailing of the Notice of Special Meeting and Management Information Circular, and the meeting date, has been scheduled for September 13, 2006.
Pretty soon the ATI label will be all but non-existent as AMD will drop the ATI label. Farewell!
